This walking tour begins on State Street and heads north past Stickly Furniture and then over the Enfield Street bridge examining the 1950's construction of Interstate 91. The walk continues past Fairfield Inn, the former Friendly's Resturant, Steve's Seafood, Jiggy's, the former Silhouette and Terwillger's hamburger stand, the former Abdow's Big Boy Restaruant. We will discuss the beginnings of the Stateline Potato Chip Company Inc.,1642 Woodward-Saffrey Line dispute between Connecticut and Massachuttes, and how Connecticut relinquished land from Connecticut Avenue in Enfield to Nevins Avenue in Longmeadow.
